PARADA - 2010
The Krewe of Carnivale en Rio's 5th annual Parada rolled through the streets of Lafayette on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.. With 22 Brazilian themed floats and "mucho" high school marching bands, a "Rio de Janeiro" theme was experienced by thousands of Acadiana fans. The krewe's floats depicted places, things, food, drinks, people, and themes of Brazil. All floats are double deckers and were brilliantly lit for the crowds' nighttime catching. Each float threw a special bead color. All float riders were dressed in true Brazilian style with sequined costumes with each Float Captain and Lieutenant decked out in feathered headpieces and backpieces.
This years Parade Marshall was Mrs Louisiana America 2009, Mrs. Jennifer Armond.
Listed are the Krewe's Brazilian floats along with each Float Captain. All Captains are named for former Governors and high ranking officials of Brazil's past.
